*Under the Skies Above*

Main Idea( Thesis)
-Tupac loses his child to a miscarriage. He dreams about how he would've loved and protected the unborn child.Even if the baby was born being rich or poor he would have had unconditional love for him. Tupac also seemed to have a concern of how he would have properly guided his child to doing what was right, when he him-self struggles with choosing right from wrong

Evidence: 2 bless it with our love, apart of me a part of you and a part of this love we share will protect my unborn child.

Evidence:He states, "Sometimes in my dreams I wonder what it would be like(I think he means what it will be like to be a father), How I can properly guide him when even i don't Know what's right from wrong."

Evidence: Tupac say' "Whether he is born in wealth or poverty there will be no deficiency in love."

Under the skies above "After the Miscarriage"

It sounds like he is talking about a miscarriage of an unborn child. The parent he could have been the unconditional love he could have shared with his child.

"love we shared will protect my unborn child."

I imagine what it would be like, how could I properly guide him."

"Under the skies above" after the miscarriage

In the poem "under the skies above" Tupac interpreted what would have happenend if he had his child. Also there were lines that explained parenting skills. Another fact Tupac mentioned, love alone is everything that is needed for both a parent and child.

Evidence: Love will protect an unborn child, apart of you, apart of me, and apart of this love we share.

Evidence: If there is love their is a way, regardless of riches or proverty. Love is the main ingredient to parenting.

"when your heart turns cold"

thesis
Throughout Tupacs poem he expresses that a person can turn from being loving and compassionate to one day going through something that changes their life drastically and makes you not feel any emotions and think that death may be the only way to release all of the pain.

evidence: "safe from hate/love, pain/joy until you feel nothing at all." Eventually their might be a time in a persons life where they may not care about life anymore.

evidence: "when your heart turns cold, a baby's cry means nothing."
when your heart turns from warm and loving to cold with nothingness, then things that were once felt with emotion now mean nothing at all.

evidence: "death seems like tranquility." he feels like the only way he is going to get rid of all the pain and suffering is through death.

Evidence: "2 bless it with our love, apart of me, apart of u, and apart of this love we share".

Evidence: "Love will protect this unborn child".

i like the thesis of jaliyah how tupac is fantasizing about being a father and what it would have been like to raise a child. love doesnt affect if the person is rich or poor its about who they are in the inside

Paraphrase: Tupac Shakur believes in order to keep an existence in life with happiness, he must change his lifestyle.

Evidence: "Fun and games R few but treasured like gold 2 me"
- Tupac values "fun and games" because he lives in an environment full of violence.

Evidence: "Cuz I realize that I must return 2 my spot in poverty"
- He is aware that because he continues living in a life that consist of poverty and violence, it shall never change unless he does.

"Life Through My Eyes"

Main ideas (Thesis)
- Most people can not tolerate or cope with his expeirence. There is never a time for Tupac to chill because of the lifestyle of poverty. The times he has fun are valuable to him because it only happeneds so rarely. But at the end of the day with no hopelessness and dispair Tupac is back to poverty. Despite his hopelesness Tupac reaches for a better future.

Evidence: "Life through my bloodshot eyes would scare a square 2 death poverty, murder, violence"

Evidence2: "But mock my words when I say my heart will not exist unless my destiny comes through and puts an end 2 all of this"

Thesis:
"When your heart turns cold causes your soul 2 freeze..(13)"

Paraphrase:
When you are numb of all feelings, your soul no longer exists

Evidence:
The coldness "spreads through your spirit like a ruthless feelings disease, ...a baby's cry means nothing, a dead corpose is trivial, mothers neglecting children is daily, ...death seems like tranquility, Sleeping is never pleasant if u even sleep at all,..(13)"

Summary:
When your numb of all feelings it is like your soul no longer exists. Things you use to care about is not worth your time. Loneliness is no longer a factor because it "...becomes your routine friend..(13)" Nothing and no one plays a role of importance in his life anymore and he has no feelings towards anything that comes his way. When not feeling he says he is "...safe from hate/love, pain/joy until you feel nothing at all," in blocking this he feels safe and not scared, or hurt anymore from losing the ones that he loves. He doesn't want to be judge until you walk into his shoes.

After the Miscarriage

Paraphrase/Thesis:
The love shared between a Father and an unborn will always last forever.

Evidence:
Quote from "Under the Skies Above"

Under the skies above, waiting anxiously 4 u and me, 2 bless it with our love" line 2-4

Summary:
The poem, "Under the Skies Above" by 2pac, talks about an unborn child he lost. The love he feels toward his unborn child will protect the child. He expresses his feelings about how he imagines if the child was born how life would actually be. It also talks about, if the child was born no matter what the situation was between them, he wouldn't let anything get in the way of raising him. Tupac is saying that the spirit of his unborn child is still alive with him in his heart. Tupac knows in his mind that one day they will meet up again, when it his time.

*Life Trough my Eyes*

In the poem "Life Trough my Eyes"
no other person can cope or tolerate what Tupac been trough. Death, poverty, murder and small but precius time is an example of the path he walk throug. Dispite all of that Tupac does still reach for a better future.

Under the Skies Above

This poem meant to me that Tupac at one time was expecting to have a child but was lost to a miscarriage. He dreamt about how he would have been there for him protected and provided for him. Woundering how he would have been able to guide him when at times he doesn't know whats right.Even if they lived in poverty or wealth he would have loved him the same.

I support what Smith said.Tupac's poem was talking about "WHAT IF I HAD A CHILD"

Also someone else in the 1-2:50 class said "when you are numb of feelings your heart and soul turns cold"

"Under the Skies Above"

Thesis:
Tupac Shakur tells us about losing his unborn child due to a miscarriage. He tells us that about a dream he had about raising his child. He tells us that he doesn't know how to raise the child properly because he himself does not know what is right or wrong. Regardless of his lifestyle, he will love the child unconditionally.

Evidence:
-Tupac's lifestyle is dangerous to both him and his family.
-He does not even know what is right or wrong ("How I can porperly guide him when ever I don't know what's right from wrong.")
-Regardless of lifestyles (rich or poor), he will love his child to the fullest.

RE: Dion

I agree with you. People change when something traumatic happened in their life. My friend definately changed when his friend was shot. He wasn't the same as before. He wanted to be alone all the time, he wanted nothing to do to socialize, and the way he treated people were in a colder way. Everyone knew the reason why.

Under the Skies Above
paraphrase: Tupac speaks to his unborn child and worries about the stuggles he may face. He is not sure if he would be doing the right thing, but one thing he knows for sure, is that he will love his child unconditionally.

key points:
1) How could I properly guide him when even I don't know what's right
2) Whether he is born in wealth or poverty there will be no deficiency
3) A part of me a part of you and a part ofthis love we share will protect my unborn child

"Life Through My Eyes"

Thesis: My heart will not exist unless my destiny puts an end 2 all of this.

The following is how I interpret the above thesis:

If Tupac can't do something in his lifetime to change the pain of being poor, of having too see some of the most horrific crimes that would frighten any man who is unfamilar. He feels that he was put here to make a change and if he can't accomplish this then the source of his being will die.

Evidence:

1.Poverty, murder, violence and never a moment to rest

2. Fun and games are few.

3. Cuz I realize I I must return 2 my spot in poverty.

Summary:

If someone who has lived a quiet life were to see the life that Tupac has lived, it would frighten them to their demise. In his life there is always something dark and wicked to see and it never ceases. It's seldom that he experiences the enjoyments of life, but what he remembers of the good times he cherishes it as if it were something of value. But in the end the time always comes when he has to leave his memories and return to the realities of his troubled life. You can make fun of what he has to say but he stands firm that, his destiny here on earth is to make a change and if he doesn't then his source of well being will die.

"When ure heart Turns Cold"

Thesis- Throughout Tupac's poem his life begins that he is in a mindstate of being loving and compassionate to one day going through something that changes your life drastically.

Evidence- "When your heart turns cold a baby's cry means nothing". When your heart turns cold you have no mutual feelings for anything.

Evidence- "Death seems like tranquility". There is nothing else to live for the only way Tupac can be at peace is in death.

Evidence-"Mothers neglecting children is daily". This was one of the major reason why Tupac heart turned cold beacause as a child Tupac didnt have the best mother and that had a big affect on his heart.

The Poem is about tupac reflecting back on a miscarriage that has taken place. He is basically talking about how he would parent this child and give love and life to this child. Even though you may not be wealthy you can still give love to the child. Even if your poor you can still give love to the child. The poem is almost as if he had a dream and woke up from the dream with these deep thoughts of what it would have been like to be a father to that unborn child.

Evidence: Love is unconditional from both parents even if u don’t have much.

Evidence: For some children it is a blessing to have both of there parents and have there parents love them no matter what the situation is.

Under the Skies Above

Tupac was going to have a child but the baby was lost due to a miscarriage. Tupac dreamed about how he would raise the unborn baby and how he would love the baby no matter if Tupac was poor or wealthy. Tupac will have unconditional love for the baby.

Line 1:

"My child is out there somewhere"

Line 2:

"Under the skies above"

These two lines are basically saying that somewhere in the skies is his unborn baby, the baby is in heaven.

Line 9:

"Sometimes in my dreams"

Line 10:

"I imagine what it would be like"

Line 11:

"How I could properly guide him"

Lines 9, 10 and 11 are saying that Tupac dreams about if the baby was born how he would raise him and guide the baby through life, the right guidance.

I felt that the thesis that Julian of the poem when your heart turns cold was good i had the same poem and i though that my thesis was good but after reading your i felt like I should have incorporated your into mines somewhere. People often change when they feel that something has happened that they cant deal with and I think that show Tupac felt and I think you got the idea.

Poem I chose to write about:
"Under the Skies Above..."

Thesis:
"My child is out there somewhwere under the skies above...(9)"

Paraphase:
My unborn child exists somewhere below God's eyes.

Evidence:
1) "...[waits] anoxiously for [us] [to] bless [him] with our love.."
2) "...a part of [us] and a part of this love we share will protect my unborn child..."
3) "...who lives dormant out there somewhere..."

Summary:
After Tupac's miscarriage, he still believes that he has a kid to bring into this world. He believes that his child is out here somewhere, just waiting to be blessed with the love he is willing to share. Also, he dreams of how the future would be when his kid is born, and even though Tupac may not know "what's right" from wrong, he will not let anything come between the love he has for his child. Tupac "[welcome's]" his gift (his child) from God with open arms.

Under the Skies Above

Key Point:
Throughout the poem Tupac writes about his feelings towards his unborn child (son) and if given the chance what type of love and affection he and the mother of his child would give to it.

Evidence:
This is true because he says, “whether he is born in wealth or poverty there will be no deficiency in love.

Evidence:
Another part of evidence that is true is how he states that he will welcome this gift from god. “ I welcome this gift of life given from GOD under the skies above.

Evidence:
One more truthful peace of evidence is how he spoke about how he and the mother of the child waits to bless it with their love. “ Waiting anxiously 4 u and me 2 bless it with our love.
