Response to "Sometimes I Cry"

"Sometimes I Cry" is a very depressing and lonely poem. It expresses a very painful feeling that Tupac experienced. Tupac expresses that he is alone and in pain. He explains that "the world moves... rather pass u by than 2 stop and c what makes u cry." He wants someone to just stop and listen to him, but no one hast time to do such a thing. He continues on to struggle within.

"Sometime I cry"

When i read that poem I feel like i can relate to it. i do sometime feel alone, like no one even cares about what you do.Instead i get yelled at or blame at. Sometime i feel people can only see the bad stuff, but not the goods of what you did, or do.And does make you feel like you can't go on, it makes you want to commit suicide. Now, i know why mens cried.

Response to "Sometimes I Cry"

I think everyone one can relate to this poem in one way or another. There have been many times when I've cried myself to sleep, or felt there was no one around for me to confide in. In the poem he qoutes "I would cry among my treasured friends but who do you know that stops that long to help another carry on?" Sometimes I feel like the friends and family I trust to give me an open ear don't really care to hear what's on my heart.

"Sometimes i Cry" is a very unique poem because it expresses how hard the world can be that even gangsters and thugs cry. they do things that are only to feed themselves but still they hurt others. People, if not everyone, can agree that the world will go on without them so staying in one position and not moving forward does not affect the world. It is also a fact that many people do not have a shoulder to lean on when they are in there troubles and many are just selfish. a lot of people basically just say "every man for him self"

What I get from the poem is that he wants to have peace of mind. Him wanting to be excepted for who he is as well as appreciateed for what he do. He expresses that he has 2 with in him-self that lets him comprehend and exsist which lets him except being peacful

Responding to "Sometimes I Cry"

When I read "Sometimes I Cry" I thought this poem was a poem that I could relate to. He taked about things like how he was alone and how it was hard to carry on with his life, and I really understood what he was talking about. I thought that some of the things he was talking about are true for a lot of people and some of the things that he was saying are some things that I have felt, so I really enjoyed this poem.

I'm responding to the poem of "sometimes I Cry"

It sounds like he is reaching out for somethig. His raps might be his crying out for help and we dop not see it or hear it. We might not cry or hear cryes because there are allot of distraction so we do not hear.

Response to "In The Debts Of Solitude"
I chose in the debts of solitude because its real, and i can somewhat relate to what he's saying in this poem. I like how he mentioed that he is sort of at "war" with hisself ("A young heart with an old soul"). And i definetly agree that in situations where you are in the mindset where you can take two paths that are presented to you, you can learn much more.

I like the way Andrew chose a line from the poem to emphasize his point. His looks more at the writing and the feelings it invokes and what Tupac might have felt when he wrote it, while San reflected on the feelings the poem evoked in him--the reader or audience. I am really impressed that two men chose this poem to write about this very personal and sensitive poem. I wonder what Tupac would say if we asked him about it now?

The peom that is chose is the depths of solitude. The reason why i picked this is because my life sort of relates to it. Tupac basically says that he is in his own world when he says he is in the depths of solitude.I am also in my own state of mind in life trying to reach my life goals but yet still staying humble. Tupac lives in two state of minds a young heart and a old soul. Thats the reason why there is a duo between the two minds and he still in the depths of solitude.

i agree with san saechao in saying that he can relate to it because i can too. a lot of people do seem to look at only the bad things in a person and miss out on what makes them truely unique. i feel alone too. i feel like i dont really have a person to talk to like im all alone in this world. but i would have to disagree with the suicide part though because i dont think i would ever commit suicide

RE: Joshua Johnson

I agree with what you're talking about with being at "war" with yourself. Sometimes you have two conflicting ideas within yourself. I also agree with the two paths that could present yourself.

The poem that I have chosen to write my free writ on is Sometime I Cry. This poem to me, relates to many people in this world, me being one of them. Yes, everyone cries, but that’s not what I mean this is a different type of cry. This isn’t just a cry from hurt, pain, sadness, anger, and sorrow it’s all of the above. There are many things that have happened to me throughout my life that I cry about to this day, still trying to figure out why this had to happen to me? Secretly holding it inside wishing that I did have someone to confide in yet to scared to let any one else in this world ever find out, just hoping that no one else ever will.

In the poem In the Depths of Solitude, to me Tupac illustrated the battle that was going on in his mind. When he was alone, and away from everyone and was looking for a direction to move in his life. He was at war with being what he thought people wanted him to be and what he thought he should be. Tupac felt as if he were an old soul trapped in a young man’s body. I believe his thought as an old man, instead of a man his age. I believe he thought it was a gift and a curse at the same time being the way he was, but he choose to make the best of it and he knew he had to apply himself that much more to his goal or what he wanted to be.

Sometimes I Cry Free Write

Sometimes I Cry was a very touching poem. I feel like I relate to this poem more than I relate to In The Depths of Solitude. This poem had a lot of meaning to it and I’m sure a lot of people can relate to it because everybody cries whether it’s because their mad, sad or hurt. Crying is a way I express my feelings most of the time. I always cry to myself and always wonder why I’m crying for so long but that is a question I have no answer to. Everybody always assume a person is always happy and never sad just because they don’t show it, but deep down inside that person may be torn in the inside. That person is ME, I cry I cry I cry only because there’s something inside of me that is missing and that one thing that is missing is my brother. I will always cry to myself til' the day my brother is FREE......

"Sometimes I Cry" is a very touching poem. Tupac expresses his feelings throughout the poem about how he struggle to carry on with life and make him want to cry. he shows us how the world around him can make a thug like him want to cry.The poem reminds me of the past when sometimes i had to make decision to carry on with life.

Response to "Sometimes I Cry"

This poem was very reminiscent of what I remember of Tupac. Tupac appeared to be hard as stone on the outside but you could tell that there was a soul similar to your own that experienced loneliness and pain. His words in the poem make me feel that he's not referring to simply crying on the outside but crying from within, even through his lyrics. He felt like no one had time to stop to find out where his tears were coming from or to simply listen, he loned to have friends who could find a moment to hear his tears. The most poignant part of this poem for me is when he states, " But who do you know that stops that long enough to help another carry on". I like many others can relate to this poem, because often I feel so alone and it feels as though those closet to you would rather pretend that they don't see or hear your tears.

I feel like he is trying to convey that he suffers the same pains and life struggles like everyone else. And just like us he feels alone too, sometimes.

The Rose that grew from Concrete

Summary of Foreword

In the foreword "Tupac, C U in Heaven" the author Nikki Giovanni had a wonderful point of view on how tupac should be remembered in my opinion. She talks about how the media saw Tupac as a monster or a bad image. He brought this image of a gangster but all he was doing was just keeping it real. Tupac had a beautiful mind heart and soul. Anybody who have listened to some of tupacs lyrics or even read some they would be amazed at the strong vocabulary tupac had. What the author was trying to tell us was just because of the foul language and tattoos tupac should still be recognized as a legend just like any other musician.

Response to poem

The poem that I have chosen to write my free write on is “Sometimes I Cry”. I chose this poem because to me it has a lot more meaning to it and I can relate to it more. Crying sometimes is a way I express my feelings, I cry when I’m sad, mad or stressed-out. Tupac cry isn’t just a cry from sorrow , anger, sadness, pain, or hurt it’s all of the above and I can relate to that. With his cry it sounds like he reaching out to something deep within.

"The sound and the rhythm of words do not intimidate him"

In Tupac's mind, there was nothing that you can or do to get it into his head and change his state of mind.It was like, no matter how something is broken down or layed out, he will not soak in the world's point of view. For example, Tupac stands as a strong man and if you felt that you needed to get a point across. Your way was by bringing an army, it will lead to automatic failure, because he will not be scared at whatever you bring him. He has been and seen so much that he can nearly complete any obstacle thrown his way.

"Sometimes I Cry"

This poem shows the vulnerable side of a man, especially a man such as Tupac who displays such a hard image. It shows the human being in each and everyone of us. Because as much as everybody puts a smile on their face, when we are all alone and lonely we want to just cry. Sometimes we fear pain and don't face and hold in our tears which isn't healthy. He showed bravery, because many people do not like to admit when they are at their lowest times. To cry is to share something personal with ourselves to release all the pain and turn it into something good, like a wake up call.

Free write response: “Sometimes I Cry”

In the poem “Sometimes I Cry” Tupac talks about how there is not a lot of people in the world who care about others. He explains how difficult life is to carry on with nobody to talk to or confide with. Tupac says nobody cares about them because if they did than they would stop to see what is wrong but the world moves on. Tupac feels that his life is shattered and it’s difficult for him to piece it back together. He also does not like to be on his own maybe it’s the sense of being lonely and held down that makes him cry.

Response to "In the Depths of Solitude"

"In the Depths of Solitude" Tupac feels he is alone, but he does exist in this world by stating the truth of his pain through his lyrics.

Trying to find a peace of mind becomes very difficult he is yearning for respect that is not given by his own people.

He just trying to make it plain and simple that the struggles continue, no matter how simple it gets.

"Sometimes I Cry"

In the poem "Sometimes I Cry" tupac was expressing how lonely he feels sometimes. He was saying that he feels like no one cares about him because the world keeps on going and he would like it if someone stopped and listen to him. Even though no one stops and listens to him, he keeps on moving with his struggles. Tupac was also trying to say that he needs a shoulder to lean on.

"Sometimes I Cry"

After reading this poem it showed the world how Tupac also had a emotional side to him and he wasn't just this angry thug all of the time. He let everyone know how when a person is in need of someone no one cares and just would rather keep on moving by someone than to stop and waste their time trying to figure out why he is crying. the world can be an evil place and one often has to look out for themselves because no one else is worried about them and i think this is what Tupac's message was.

Response to "Sometimes I Cry" by Tupac:

When I read this poem, I thought about many things and the loneliness that he has felt. I can feel the feelings that he expresses in this poem because I, too, have felt this way once before. Sometimes, I do wonder, ..."who do u know that stops that long to help another carry on..(7)" because would your truest friends stop doing what they are doing just to hear you out? Will they help u through the troubles n loneliness that u are feeling? I agree with Tupac when he says that the world moves quick because we must live life even if it hurts. There are some things in life that we don't understand and are left clueless with.

The poem "Sometime I cry" expresses Tupac's feelings from his prospectives of the world. He feels no one take the time out to care for him or asks him what hurts. This poem is one of the most heart felts poems Tupac has written. He wasn't afraid to admit that he was lonely and no one dared to even tend to his needs. Very intense poem.

Response to "In The Depths of Solitude"

Many of us have an actual fear of solitude! Many people are afraid to be alone with themselves, so they keep others around them to drown out their own thoughts. Everyone has something to hide that's within, but maybe by confronting yourself your mind can heal in time. And everyone wants to be recognized for who they really are and sometimes being the real you can't be accepted, which can be painful at times. Tupac writes about the two personalities that he recognizes he has, and that the world isn't so simple for those who know themselves; For those who want to know the real, no facade,no sugar coatings, just the raw truth. I think he's explaining how hard it is to find peace within your own confused being.
