Kurzweil at Laney
Please write a reflection on your experience this morning or afternoon with the Kurzweil text to speech program. I have CDs for each of you to try the program out for 30 days. I am going to have the program ghosted on the L-202E computers, so we can use it for the rest of the semester.
I'm really excited about the possibilities for composition and reading. Remember, you can use the labs at Laney, 9-4, M-F, in E-237.

The program we used today was really good. I liked it personally because it has an internal dictionary within it. It'll go great when we work on essays and other works.
I'm about to mail in my Ballots soon. I'm an absent voter haha.

My experience with Kurzweil was fantastic. I really like the program it is helpful in many ways. The sound to the text was really nice. It helps when you are lazy..haha...just kidding. As far as helping me with my writing I believe that this program is good for me. There are many different links and tools to help me compose a great paper. I really like how I can instantly get the definition to words that I dont know that meaning of in the text that I am reading. It's great how there are multiple things to do to edit a paper at one time. To be honest it will take time to really get the hang of this program because there is a lot to it but it will be very helpful in the long run.

The program that they showed us today at Laney was an interesting program that could be very useful to many students that have difficulties with assignments or readings for their classes. It can be useful for people that have a hard time doing many things at once like pulling out thesis sentences and annotating the text. I like how they had the different colors to choose from to highlight various sections for different reasons. However the thing I didn’t like about the program was the reading because it would be hard for me to follow the reading because it isn't smooth but it would still be helpful because I could do multiple things at once. Overall the program is great and I think that many colleges and students should use program to help with assignments.

I really like the program. I Think this would really be a good thing for the Collge of Alameda students. Just playing around with it during the presentation I fell in love with it. I Know there is more that can be done with the program but we were just shown the basics of the program. If it is brought to college of Alameda I would use this a lot, when writing essays or anything I am writting.This program is helpful to me due to the fact that my writing is horrible. I can spell really well but I tend to put all of what I am saying down on the paper and then it makes no sense to me. Being that this program reads your writing back to you you get to hear how it sounds.

i was so impressed about the program they showed us at Laney. i have installed the program in my computer and tried it out at home. it's really helpfull when we write essay and other writting assignments.

The Kurweil program taught me the importance of reviewing my finished work. When at all possible have someone else edit it for me before I submit it.I enjoyed having my work read to me and the dictionary was awesome. If only I could afford to but it. Thank you for introducing me to such a great program.
