Evolution of a Revolutionary

What comes to mind when I read the title? First, the title could not have been more right for such a woman.
Afeni was a very complex, angry and smart woman, whose choices were directed into a place for positive movement. She is a revolutionary in her own right.

A revolutionary is anyone resulting in a radical change: an individual attempting to effect a social or political change using extreme measures.

Tupac mother who was an insurgency of her time, proved to people that no matter where or what you come from you have a choice to make change. A woman of great substance, throughout the years, that have the same drive in her from the beginning.

In my opinion, the theme Evolution of a Revoloutionary suggests the clutivation and transformation of the traits that shape and produce greatness. The evolution process is a natral aspect of change and growth.

Evolution of a Revolutionary

When I read the title “Evolution of a Revolutionary” the thing that comes to my mind is having changes in political or social views that can help better one‘s life. A Revolutionary is making changes or gaining new resolution upon an issues that exist and that someone or group of people what a change. From the reading of “Holler if you hear me” I know that Afeni is person who want to see changes on lives and other issues. She was a committed , passionate, and strong person who fought for what she wants. She wanted to see changes.

Evolution of a Revolutionary

When I read the title Evolution of a Revolutionary, It makes me think of a war. Then When I read the word Revolutonary from the dictionary it meant war and change.

In the begining of this book, It talks about her son Tupac. Tupac gave her a house and she also was talking about how she owns a 56-acre farm in Lumberton, North Carolina. In her farm she owns cows and pigs and she likes to grow organic vegetables and she feeds the poor people who live there. She also talks about how her great-grandmother married a white guy. He was part Lumbee and part white.Afeni also felt that she couldn't walk anywhere with her sister because a group of guys in a car would call her names when she would walking with her sister.

When I was reading the book, I felt like Afeni was smart to have a farm to help the poor.

"Evolutionary of a Revolutionary"

When I think of the title; I think of a story or process of someone who has evovled into greatness. I think the strong title must be of someone with strong character.
Revolutionary is defined as "marked by or resulting in radical change; one who supports or engages in revolution.
WOW! that definition should have just had Afeni's name. Because she is definitly a woman who fought for radical change. Most women would not have put the movement first. But she did, even before her children and that makes her a soldier. I must say she is a woman of her word and very trust worthy. Commitment is something serious to her and people love that about Afeni as well. She spent over half her life fighting for equality for our people. So with that, I must say through all of her faughts and mistakes I have all the respect for her that only one can offer.

When I read Evolution of a Revolutionary I think about war. I think about a battle that has taken place or a fight that is going on. I think of an important event happening that will change the world. I think of hard times. I also think of people doing whatever they can to make it where they are trying to go. When I did some research on Evolution of a Revolutionary I found out that it was the First World War was marked by a general economic crisis. At that point I realized that my opinion on the topic was almost correct.
Afeni was a tuff woman. She fought for what she believed in and she was a member of the Black Panther movement. The Black Panther movement was very big. The Black Panthers fought for what they believed in. They didn’t take any disrespect. Afeni life was very hard. She was in and out of prison and she even did drugs. Her life was a war.
Afeni son Tupac also had a hard life. He basically raised himself and had to learn how to be a man. Blacks at tupac fought to change that. He motivated people and gave them the strength to stand up for what they believed in.

When I hear “Evolution of a Revolutionary” what comes to mind is someone who has evolved in a better or different person over time fighting for what they believe in. The definition of Evolution is: a pattern formed by a series of movements. The definition of revolutionary is: marked by or resulting in radical change; one that supports or engages in revolution. Both of these definitions accurately define Afeni. She was a very strong willed woman who was not afraid to fight for what she believed in. She took care of her children the best she could while fighting for what she believed was right. Jasmine Guy picked the perfect title for her book she wrote based upon Afeni in my opinion.

“Evolution of a Revolutionary”

When I read the title of the book I think of growing and changing completely for the better. Revolutionary is a movement in completely changing one’s political view and one’s way of thinking. This is an accurate description of Afeni because she had a great turning point in her life. She was a teacher and a normal young girl who became influenced in political movement. It changed her life and it made her who she is today.
