Comments:
What I liked about the skit was how it was organized and how it was played out. First I liked how they put together when tupac was talking to his mother about the Black Panther and also how he would dissus it with his friends to. I like how they spoken well so you can here the words clearly.

Student Presentations Day 1

In chapter 1 Dear Mama and chapter 2 Son of a Panther my partner Mai and I playwright it and overall I thought that it went pretty well. We both had parts in the plays and all the cast member Kevan, Matt, Gwendolyn, and Arely were great with their parts. I liked the fact that we had volunteers and the audiences attention when we were presenting our chapters. Also I like how the whole skit was put together with brief information about what the skit is about and how the poem and song relates to the skit.

In Arely presentation for chapter 3 No Malcolm X in My History Text presented by herself, Amin and Elizabeth was interesting because I liked how it was all base on an interview that Tupac had where he expresses how he felt, what type of subjects he wants to see be taught in school, and other changes that he would hope to see in his community for the other African American youths and him. It was a good skit.

The chapter 1 presentation went very well. I was very impressed with the presentation because it talked a lot about tupacs love for his mother. Chapter 1 went 1st and really set the bar for the other presentations. The scene written really expressed how tupac had love for his mother. There is not anything that I would change in the scene presented for chapter 1 because it was really good.
The chapter 2 presentation by my classmates also impressed me. The chapter was titled The Son of a Panther. This presentation talked about tupacs life as a panther and the things he had to go through. One of the main topics in the scene was how tupacs mother was always on drugs or in jail and struggled to raise tupac. The people acting the scene out spoke very clearly and loud. Everyone took this assignment very serious and it showed in the end with great work.
Chapter3 was titled No Malcolm X in My History Book. This presentation I feel was the best of the day. It explained the changes that tupac though should happen. The actors in the scene really acted their parts well.

Ch. 1 "Dear Mama"

Cynthia was my partner for both chapter one and two. We wrote the skit and improvised songs that we thought were related to the act. i liked how we lead up to the scene and had the characters talk to each other. Dyson's book didn't really have any so it was fun to imagine and make it up.

Ch. 2 "The Son of a Panther"

What I liked most about this skit was how we developed the plot of Tupac interested in reforming The Black Panther. I also liked how we had Tupac shared his poem with his mother. This in a way shows their bonding.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL ACTORS!!!!!

Ch. 3 "No Malcolm X in My History of Text"

What I liked in this skit by Arely was how in depth the dialogues were. Many information was said by the actors and also covered the chapter. What I didn't like was how the music was playing throughout the whole scene. It made it hard to hear the actors.

1rst presentation-The first presentation was good because it addressed Tupac's mom, friends, and black panthers. It made more sense because they asked if people from the audience can participate and be in the skit. Which made it more clear to understand the importance of "Dear Mamma" in Chapter 1.

Presentation 2
In the second presentation, "Son of a Panther", it was also good because they acted the skit out as a live interview where one person was asking the questions and the other was playing as "Tupac". He mentioned why he was a "thug" and why Black Panthers are important and how people can join the Black Panther movement and make a change.

Response to Student Presentation Day 2

In kevan presentation on chapter 4 with Professor Sabir as Snoop Dog. I thought that it was interesting the way it was setup of how Tupac was being interview by Snoop Dog about what Thug life was like and how it effect him while growing up. I like the fact that the music Changes was playing in the backgroud as the skit was being played, but it was kind if hard to hear what was being said at times. Overall it was a good presentation.

For chapter 5 presentation playwright by Marcus and Gwendolyn it was aslo a good skit even though, they did not have a song or poem to go with it, but maybe it would be kind of nice if there was a song and poem that relates to thier skit. Their setup was a interview style and it was good. In the interview was Tupac explaining what "Nigger" mean and how his life as a thug was. It was a great play.

Feedback for Matthew and Gwendolyn

I thought you did a good job on your chapter five: “For All the Real Niggaz Out There.” Your script was good. I liked how you chose the scene where Tupac describes and tells what the meaning of niggaz. There is a controversial subject about that word, and I thought it was important that you covered that point. The only thing I didn’t hear was a song related to the scene and a poem from, “A Rose That Grew From Concrete.”

Feedback for Kevin

What I liked most in your scene was the script for chapter four: “Give Me a Paper and a Pen.” I thought you developed it very well. You had Tupac explained what Thug life was. Many people that are not aware of what Tupac’s definition of thug would just think he’s a gangster. The song you chose was, “Changes.” I thought the song matched your scene because it being a thug is a changing yourself and your values to stand tall.

Chapter 1
This scene was done by Mai. I think that she did a good job and that she picked a good scence. Her scence was not that long. I could tell that she tried really hard with writing the script. I liked playing the daughter.

Chapter 2
This scene was done by Cynthia. I think that she did a good job. I liked the poem that she chose. I think that it went well with the scence. I liked that it was to the point.

Chapter 3
This scene was done by myself. i think that Amin and Elizabeth did good in reading it. Mine seemed long compared to others. It took me a bit to write it, but I think that it came out good.
