Lyrics to my song "My Testimony"

Artist: Sebastian Chastang
Genre: Gospel Rap

Lyrics:

INTRO:

TO ALL LISTENERS THIS MY TESTIMONY
GOD BROUGHT ME THROUGH IT ALL
SEEN ME THROUGH THE UPS AND THE DOWNS
AND DIDN’T LET ME FALL
THIS MY TESTIMONY
SHOOT…………………………………

VERSE 1

LORD, I NEED YOU TO LEAD AND GUIDE MY STEPS
HELP ME TAKE MY TIME HELP ME REACH MY DEPTHS
‘CAUSE I CAN’T DO A THANG WITHOUT YOU BEING THERE
I SWEAR I’M SO SCARED WHEN I DON’T FEEL YOU NEAR
WHEN I BE PRAYING LORD I KNOW YOU HEAR MY PRAYERS
I KNOW YOU SEE MY THOUGHTS ‘CAUSE THEY ARE BRIGHT AS FLARES
AND WHEN I’M ON THE STAIRS ON THE WAY TO HEAVEN
I DON’T FEAR FOR A SECOND THAT I’MA SEE YOU THERE
HIGH ON YOUR THRONE REIGNING IN YOUR CHAIR
AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE ANGELS WATCHING EVERYWHERE
I JUST THANK YOU GOD FOR ANOTHER CHANCE
I DIDN’T HAVE TO BE THE MAN LIFE THAT YOU SPARED
WHEN I WAS IN THE WORLD YOU COULD’VE LEFT ME THERE
BUT YOU BROUGHT ME OUT OF THE MIDST OF THE DEVIL SNARES
WHEN I WAS AT MY WORST YOU SHOWED THAT YOU CARED
AND DIDN’T LET ME GO THROUGH NOTHING THAT I COULDN’T BARE

VERSE 2

I AINT COME IN THIS WORLD WITH A SILVER SPOON IN MY MOUTH
SOMEDAYS I PLOTTED ON ROTTEN WAYS I COULD MAKE IT OUT
MY DAYS WASN’T ALWAYS SUNNY SOME WAS RAIN AND CLOUDS
PAINS AND SMILES BUT NOW I’M THANKING GOD FOR MY TRIALS
HE DIDN’T HAVE TO BRING ME THIS FAR HE COULD HAVE LEFT ME
BUT GODS’ MERCY WAS SHOWN HE REALLY BLESSED ME
AND WHEN I THINK OF THEM LONG NIGHTS WHEN I WAS LIVING THE WRONG LIFE
I DIDN’T TAKE A SECOND TO THINKOF THE POWER OF GODS’ MIGHT
LIKE FOR INSTANCE DID I THANK GOD FOR WAKINGME UP
OR PROVIDING FOR ME MAKING SURE I HAD ENOUGH
OR FOR TAKING THE VEIL OFF OF MY EYES SO I CAN SEE
‘CAUSE I WAS BLIND WALKING IN PLACES NOBODY SHOULD BE
AND WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT TODAY THAT I COULD EVEN TALK ABOUT IT
WITHOUT GOD I KNOW I WOULDN’T HAVE WALKED UP OUT IT
NOW I CAN SHOUT ABOUT IT THANK GOD HALLELUJAH
ALL PRAISES TO THE KING ‘CAUSE IT AI’NT OVER

VERSE 3

I WAS RAISED IN THE CHURCH AND STILL RAN FROM IT
BLIND TO THE DEATH AHEAD LIKE I COULDN’T SEE IT COMING
SHOULD HAVE SEEN ME RUNNING LOOK I WAS CHASING
ONLY IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THAT IT WOULDN’T AMOUNT TO NOTHING
I PROBABLY WOULDN’T HAVE WASTED ALL THAT TIME
IN THE STREETS GETTING HIGH PLOTTING ALL THAT CRIME
JUST IMAGINE IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED ALL THAT TIME
FOR REAL CHRIST THE ONLY REASON I AIN’T LOST MY MIND
AND I AINT LOST MY GRIND I JUST STARTED PUTTING CHRIST ON
‘CAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY HE THE ONE THAT KEEP MY MIND STONG
HE THE ONE I PUT MY TRUST IN LIGHTS ON
NOW I RAP FOR GOD I HEAR MORE THAN A NICE SONG
HIS FAVOR OVER MY LIFE I SAY RIGHT ON TIME
DEVIL BE TRYING TO DISCOURAGE ME I SAY KEEP ON LYING
‘CAUSE I’MA KEEP ON FLYING I THANK GOD FOR THIS LIGHT I CAN KEEP ON SHINING
I’MA KEEP ON SHINING

Whose Gonna to Take the Blame by Smokey Robinson
http://www.songlyrics.com/smokey-robinson/who-s-gonna-take-the-blame-lyrics/

We were just kids playing in the rain
When you threw a stone
And you broke a window pane

You were so afraid of what you done
That I held your hand little one
And I wouldn't let you run

Then you turned to me
With a look of shame on your face
And your eyes asked a question ever so tenderly

Oh, who will take the blame?
Who's gonna bear the shame?
Right then, I knew, how it would always be
Put the blame, put it on me

Ooh, at the age of twelve
You were a fine young thing
But I felt much older 'cause I had to shoulder
The trouble you'd bring

Like the time you pushed Sonny down
And she cried on me
With those same big eyes
You turned and you looked at me

Oh, who will take the blame?
Who's gonna bear the shame?
Right then, I knew, how it would always be
Put the blame, put it on me
Put it on me, put it on me

Now you're all grown up
And you're running wild
And they're so surprised
'Cause all along you seemed
Like such a sweet child

And there's nothing but bad news
From old friends I meet
How you've become
A woman of the street

And they give me a million
And one reasons why
But when I analyze it
I know where the real fault lies

Oh, who will take the blame?
Who's gonna bear the shame?
No doubt about it, oh, this time rightfully
Put the blame, put it on me.

Oh, who will take the blame?
Who's gonna bear the shame?
Put the blame, put it on me

Oh, who will take the blame?
Who's gonna bear the shame?
Put the blame

Comments:
I really like this song, and now that I have read Smokey Robinson's song, "Whose Gonna Take the Blame," where the hook comes from, I am even more impressed by the writing and performance of this work.

Often we blame other people for how we turned out as adults and while we are not responsible for the ill that befell us as children when we are "all grown up," if we continue to believe we are victims and behave as victims and continue to allow ourselves to be victimized or in response to the pain we suffered become victimizers then this is a choice we have made.

One can always choose to do better and to be better than whatever circumstances one rises from as a child. It is harder for some to break the chains that bind one spiritually or physically. Drugs are a chain. Violence whether that is as a victim or as a perpetrator is a chain, doubt is a chain and feelings of unworthiness can also bind one to bad or poor choices and behaviors.

In the song the character knows that his success comes from his relationship to his better self, his spiritual self, his heart-centered self, the self that is connected to something greater than all the tribulations and trouble he has waded through to get on the other side, a side of his life where he is improving and growing and feeling more self-confident and pleased with himself as a man and as a human being.

"My Testimony" is a place we all return to daily or weekly or perhaps not often enough, because this place, a place where one is humble and honest and vulnerable is a place where bravado is absent and lies disappear, it is the mirror where the only face one sees is his heart.
Tupac in his poetry returns here over and over again.

Self-reflective, he was constantly reevaluating himself as spirit on a jouney, as a work in progress, a young man on a soul-journey.

Free Write- Sebastian Chastang

Today’s free write was on a song called My Testimony, by Sebastian Chastang about his live changes and his struggle in this world. If I was to critique this song I would come to the conclusion that this song has a heart felt message that the artist is trying to get across. Even that we has some similarities to a one Tupac Shakur also a rap artist.

The line that seemed to sum up the theme in this song is in verse 2 line one when he states “I aint come in this world with a silver spoon in my mouth some day’s I plotted on rotten ways I could make it out” I belive he is trying to express how he is looking for a way to make it (honestly) in this world, and how he holds on to his faith helping him to get through his ruff times.
There is a line from a poetry book called: The Rose that grew From Concrete were Tupac expresses some of the same feelings in a poem called: God stating “ When I was alone and had nothing I asked 4 a friend 2 help me bear the pain no one came except. . . GOD” this as in Sebastians song: My Testimony, expresses his needs for gods help. There for depicting a great need and faith in god.

In the song, "My Testimony" by Sebastian Chastang brings a theme of redmeption, speaks about his trials and tribulations in life and how with Gods help he was able to overcome his challenges.

The song relates to the same theme of feeling and being alone in the poem written by Tupac Shakur, "Sometimes I Cry." Feeling so alone in his world and not being able to reach out for help must have been agonizing for him. " It's painful and sad and sometimes I cry and no one cares about why."

I can only wonder if Tupac had faith in God? If he ever reached out and asked for help.Somehow Chastang was able to confide in his faith when life got rough and was able to overcome his challenges.

The song this is my testimony by Sebastian Chanting is so real and beautiful I love how in the entro he states “God brought me through it all”. He is talking ab out how he has struggled before with drugs, but he thanks God because now he is a new man. In verse one he talks about how he is scared when he does not feel God near. I feel the same way to as well. This is one of my favorite songs and I have only heard it twice.

In verse two he States: “I ain’t born with a silver spon in my mouth”. We are not born with a silver spoon in our mouth, but we are all going to have our trials. He is stating that he wants to follow Good and listen, and how he is proud to be a changed man.
In listening to this song it sums up how I feel and we don’t always have a bright and shiny day.
The poem from Tupac called *Tomorrow he writes: “But tomorrow I see achange a chance to build anew, built on spirit intent of heart and ideas based on truth”. This part of this poem fits with Sebastian’s song because he talks about having fa better tomorrow, and how the day were not always bright for him. This was Tupocs truthful prayer in a way how he looks not on the bad side but reflects that he will have a better tomorrow filled with truth.

“My Testimony”
In Sebastian's song “My testimony” he states “I was raised in the church and still ran from it”. God was with him and his lifestyle chose him to stay away from God. When people are raised in the church they have other lifestyles outside of church and being a child of God. When he was a teen I can understand where he came from because everyone wants to have fun and live life to the fullest. If you don’t live your life when you get older and look back you might feel as though time passed you by and your just getting older.

He is definitely taking responsibility for his actions. Sebastian says “Only if I would have known that it wouldn’t amount to nothing I probably wouldn’t have wasted all the time in the streets getting high plotting all that crime”. It shows that if he would have put his energy on something else he wouldn’t regret his previous actions in his younger years. If he had someone to say to him what he can now say to someone else someone can take on a path that he would be proud to say he helped with. Life is about experiences and you gain knowledge within those experiences.

Sebastian states “And when I think of them long nights when I was living the wrong life I didn’t take a second to think of the power of Gods might’. This shows he came from somewhere and he is not taking credit for anything he is giving God all the credit. He knows that it is God who have brought him through his situation and still with him through his life now that he is older.

Free Write to My Testimony

The theme of the song, My Testimony, by Sebastian Chalang is that God instills hope for people to drive on. If it were not for him, the purity of life would be ruined and chaos would corrupt the mind. God inspires many to live the way they live, to eat what they work hard to earn and to survive the jungle that has many obstacles for people to face.

Sebastian Chalang really pointed out in his song that he felt like he was alone facing the pain, but someone came to pick him up off his feet and had him walking. Tupac also has something similar in his book called The Rose that Grew from Concrete, with the poem called God. In his first verse, he says “When I was alone and had nothing/I asked 4 a friend 2 help me bear the/pain no one came except… GOD!”(33). This poem that Tupac writes relates in a way that there is someone watching over them, that they would be taken care of through their prayers and hopes. They believe that they are not alone when God is there to guide them out of the darkness to the light. They believe that one day, when all things are over and they are to go away, that their souls will be delivered if they followed Gods’ plan for them.

My Testimony is not only a song for people to jam to, but an inspiration for those that want and look up to it. Sebastians song sand Tupacs poem both correlate with each other in the sense that they both feel that there is always someone there to guide them out of the chaos to a solitude sanctuary. So whenever you feel like you need someone that is not there, always look up and you will see that God is always there for you.

In this song My Testimony I choose the theme to be, where you come form describes who you are as a man. A poem that refers to my theme is a poem from The Rose That Grew From concrete. Poems about Tupac Shakur in one of the poems called When There Is A Will… Where there I a will there is a way two search and discover a better day, where a positive hear is all you need two rise beyond an succeed, where young minds grow and respect each other based on there deeds and not their color, when times are dim say as I say.. Where theirs a will there is a way. Just because you come from the hood doesn’t mean you can’t come out of the hood, as Tupac said. “When There A Will Theirs A Way”.

Freewrite to My Testimony

The song “my testimony” it talks about how he lives in fear without god’s guidance and
that without him he wouldn’t be following in the right directions. He thanks god for having the
things what he needs to provide himself and he also thanked him for living peacefully in the life
he has and being able to appreciate the things he have and also for being able to wake up every
day in his normal life. He needed god to guide him to be successful in life in order to live the life
as it suppose to.

Sebastian Chastang had hard struggles in his life the song “my testimony” is related to
Tupac’s poem “the rose that grew from concrete” and in the poem the title “sometimes I cry”
says that Tupac was alone and bitter and no one cared why and the reason why he is alone
because he has always been on his own and that he has a broken heart.

Freewrite to My Testimony
This song “My Testimony” by Sebastian Chastang talks about him living in fear without God’s guidance. He decided to follow God’s steps, and he thank God for getting him in to the right direction. He also thanks God for giving him the opportunity that he needs in his life, and he is being blessed with God for everything to provide Sebastian Chastang to live without fear.
Sebastian Chastang had struggles in his life. His song “My Testimony” has similarities to Tupac Shakur’s poem “Sometimes I Cry” on the book “The Rose That grew From Concrete” Tupac was living in struggles in his life and felt fear and loneliness. In Sometimes I Cry Tupac was feeling alone and try to find his way to reach out for help. Can Tupac Find his way to reach out for God?

My testimony free write
The song my testimony is the authors testimony of his journey of faith. There are three main points in this odyssey. These include growing up in the church but running away along with finding his faith and how his faith has helped him through tough times. This shows that faith does in no way assure An easy life just because you are a believer.
The journey of any young individual through their faith always involves stages. This includes a period of innocent acceptance of their faith as being true with childlike ignorance. This also includes inevitably as part of growing up a stage where along with every authority we feel restricted by the laws of our faith. This usually leads to believers running away in search of personal freedom. It usually takes some form of hardship to bring us back to our faith.
When “rotten plans’ go and blow up in our face that we feel enough despair to go back to our faith.. It does have a biblical principle in that the hopeless were the ones most receptive to faith. This is probably due to the fact that those who are doing well are blinded by their arrogance.
Being helped through tough times is one of the best things to happen to an individual. This is due to the fact that it brings us down to earth about our own abilities . Which makes sure that we never forget that no man is an island unto himself.

My testimony free write

In “My Testimony” By Sebastian Chastang I thought the song was very deep and, was supposed to symbolize his life and how god helped him through tough times and his struggles. He says: “Lord, I need you to lead and guide my steps help me take my time help reach my depths.” He is basically, saying that god has helped him through hard times, and he wants to be guided through every step of the way in life to reach the full life potential. He knows that god has helped him through his ups and downs, good and bad and didn’t want to see him fail. He knows god is everything and he has helped him through everything. He knew that even when god saw him suffering, god helped him no matter what. He was there helping him through every step of the way.

He knows because, of god he is alive right now and he is praising to god that he is so thankful for what he has done for him. He gave him eyes to see, a mouth to talk, ears to hear, a nose to breathe. Without god we would be nowhere. He says: “My days wasn’t always sunny some was rain and clouds pains and smiles but now I’m thanking god for my trials.” God gave him the strength and will power to see the light, have happiness, and be thankful for everything you have. He wants to thank god and say Hallelujah for giving him all of this. In the song god was able to help through easy and hard times; and with gods help he was able to overcome his fears. He wasn’t a coward anymore.

Sebastian knows that god loves him, and he has an extremely big amount of trust for god. He says: “Devil be trying to discourage me I say keep on lying ‘cause I’ma keep on flying I thank god for this light I can keep on shining.” Nobody can discourage him besides god, and he has such a large amount of respect for god and that will never change. The one that keeps him living is god and the one that keeps him up and having so much enthusiasm is god. This song symbolized a lot about the person who wrote it because, it shows how much love, honesty, and respect he had for god. He is trying to express his feelings towards god and hopefully will get the message. I’m also, wondering whether Tupac had the same sympathy, respect for god whether he thought the same and had the same feelings. The song really shows how he changed from a bad person to a better person with gods help. He faced his fears, and was able to do things he could not do before.
