I found a great article called Nature versus nurture poverty matters. It breaks down how education matters in the three class lower, middle, and upper class. We all need a education to help the inviroment to grow. Also explor the genetics having to do with how poverty was not being expressed.
The articals begins with how we think genetics plays a role on poverty also the inviroment matter as well. Well off house hold have a better wellness for the child. For Afeni her family her dad in particular was very mean to her as well as her grandfather. She grew up in a poor community.
Early education can also play a key in the low poverty and how it can be shaped. I feel this is why Afeni pushed Tupac to get a good education, because she did not get to have one when she was younger. It was harder for a black woman to get education because of the racism issiues.
They say genetics has a lot to do with the nature and the inviroment, but I would have to disagree. It is not always about the science it is about where you are from. I get slack about being from Kentucky and how it is a imbred state. Did I choose to merry my brother? The answer is know you have to look deeper than that where Afeni came from how she was treated and the respect that she dd not get from some of her family. "[Michael] Barone's claim that "maybe" the fall in social mobility in America is due to the fact that a high IQ genetic elite has risen to the top of the fair meritocracy that is our society."

nature and nurture

IS IT NATURE or is it nurture, heredity, or society? thats a big debate in our time right now. Also choice vs destiny what is it that you control apposed to what is meant to be with out your control. The Article that i read talk about all this and it also talked about a girl that dint go to school she just spend her time going place to place learning the world with her own eyes rather den to read about it in books. This can relate to Afeni because she never went to school but yet she was so smart and a very good talker. She past it down to Tupac that was nature and the nurture was him choosing to share it to the world and making everyone feel his pain. Nature can also be the way your eyes come out while nurture can be the color you choose your contact lens to be. there is nature vs nurture every where you have to look and you will find it. Destiny vs choice is the option to do something vs what you cant control.

Nature vs. Nurture
The article witch best fits my views on this subject of nature vs. nurture in regards to Afeni Shakur’s life and how much of her life she has no control over and how much of her life she could control. I choose Nature Title: The Chaotic Brain This article discusses how a human life is affected by its surroundings in a way like a bolder rolling down a hill. Saying that bolder will come in contact with twigs, bushes, and stones, each of these all having there hone effect on that bolder, that then changes the decent of the bolder, that therefore cannot be determined. Therefor we could not “precisely predict the path the boulder will take because the complexity of its descent exceeds our ability to calculate.”

Nature vs Nurture

In the article " Take All Prisoners" by Marisa Mauro, Psy, D, she speaks about the factors in the developmental phase of childrenand teens lives growing up in dangerous neigborhoods with poverty, abuse and exposure to violence, gangs and drug use. The enviroment can be a reason for one to end up committing crime and becoming incarcerated. The way a child is nurturedcan reslut in their behavior.

If the formentioned factors were not present the outcome of drug use, committing crime and incarceration might not be prevelant. One can only think that a child by nature is not a criminal.

It this is the case nurture wins over nature, however, there are youth who are exposed to violence, dangerous neighborhoods, abuse, and drug use, but do not commitcrimes. Nature can not exisit without nurture.

I looked through the catalog and found an article called The raging bull of Berkeley. It explains how students revolt to the teachers reason for teaching homophobic, racist and sexist materials. All of it started with him posting an article, which a month later the revolt occured.

The article explains how the teacher further explains the effects of nature and nurture on the individual. He believes that it is the individual that has the final control over his or her behaviors.

The Individual should understand their limits to where they are with the behavioral control. The teacher also should understand his limits with the students if he has offended so many with his articles and his opinions.

In the the article "Researchers Challenge Nature Vs. Nurture Argument", it talks about how different racial, economic and social environments effect a childs development and learning capacity.
It discribes how children from an upper class environment are subjected to different activities but the same education and develop a high IQ and their own individualism while children from middle or lower class environments are subjected to same education with less access to other activities and develop a collective mindset. It also notes that as the world gets more chaotic, uncaring, and violent, it has an effect on the competence and character development of the individual.
This relates to Afeni Shakur considering that she was an intelligent African American woman who was in an environment full of prejudice and inequality. If she didn't have to endure those conditions during her development, she could have acomplished more and had more stability in her life.

Some students did not tell us the name of the article or site it. This is an exercise in research and citation.

Nature vs. Nurture

The article "Genetics and Development Psychology" by Robert Plomin, is about how the environment affects the way a person live their life. It could change in genes that run through the family by age. When children’s genetic effects can change form one age to age to another can affect the brains of different age groups. Children and adults have different mental development. He says, “For example, developmental changes in genetic effects is likely to be responsible for the fact that it is difficult to find behavioral markers in childhood for individuals who later become schizophrenic.” In development stages in life, an individual who can either be schizophrenic can be appear either in their childhood or who can become schizophrenic later on. This is similar to Afeni when her father smoked. When she was a child, she watched her father smoke cigarettes. She was unfamiliar with her father doing it when she was around him so she tried it herself. Also when she had Tupac, he followed his mother’s foot steps. Having curiousity of smoking cigarettes was passed down from one generation to the next. Then he quotes, “Although most research has focused on family environment it seems reasonable that experiences outside of the family such as experiences with peers and other life events might be richer sources of nonshared environment…” (Harris 1994). This refers to Afeni in how drugs and relationships affected her emotions. She who could not control drugs and the men who made she decisions for her. Nurture can be the way of when was she was raised on her own; she had no adult role models to support her. Growing up as a child, she was mostly independent.

Nature vs. Nurture in special education: schools are organized as if nature has already won the contest

The title explains everything. I went to the library database and i found this article that pull my attention and i wanted to write about it.
Signs in schools often brag that "every child can learn." But when I experience the reality of these schools, I'm often left believing those words don't apply to students with disabilities. Although education is intended to promote the nurture side of the nature vs. nurture equation, most schools act as if they believe nature has won that contest. Consider three assumptions that guide the practice of special education. Students with disabilities must first show that they can learn before we can teach them with students who don't have disabilities. Students with disabilities are often assigned to a special classroom or school simply because of their disability. They're automatically viewed as not being able to learn what their nondisabled peers are learning. Also, students with disabilities should be grouped with other students with the same disability. Ironically, grouping is criticized as "tracking" when applied to nondisabled students. Moreover, all students must demonstrate the same learning outcomes.

Nature Vs Nurture: Stephen Sniderman Replies: Nature Vs. Nurture in sports

When I was at a College Of Alameda Library I went on the library database and as I was looking through the list I found this article really interesting. In this article this sentence got my attention, “99% of scholars in a field are in general agreement .” Sports can be everyone sport. Also sports can may lead to global warming because of human activities and said by 99% of climate scientist.. The sports side can lead to nature and nurture depends on how sports can be effected. Sports are there for good workout and sports can fit in every person depends on what type of sports they like. Sports shows teamwork and they get along with there teammates. A lot of people play sports or like to play sports. People should demonstrate the outcome of sports.

Nurturing on Human Nature Summary

In the article, "Nurturing a View on Human Nature" by David L. Hull, he talks about the different theories that are created by the public and Stewart Pinker's books and opinions of human nature such as the blank state. We are not born with blank minds; we just adapt to nature and learn about the different forms of nature as our bodies and minds grow.
The article talks more about how the brains work in order to understand nature and nurture in different circumstances. This topic is talked about because the author is proving how Pinker's thoughts on society and nature vs. nurture is inaccurate.
This relates to Afeni Shakur because of how both intelligent her and her son Tupac became and understood about history of African Americans and how racism and poverty was struggling for both of them, especially Afeni.

I read two articles about Nature VS Nurture. I picked an article published by PBS. The article I read was about the genes VS  the environment. The article was explaining how cancer can be influenced by genes and environment. According to the article everyone carries between five and fifty genetic glitches that can and may cause a person from having a serious mental or physical illness. They did their study on "colon cancer" gene, because its a cancer that is triggered by toxins secreted in the gut, that is environmental disease.  Researched studying 45000 twins concluded that cancer is largely caused by environment rather than inherited factors.
Identifying and  detecting that certain genes will be able doctors to predict individual disease risks, recommend suitable lifestyle regimens, and prescribe the safest and most effective drugs.

Nature versus Nurture

What is the difference between nature and nurture? Nature is like what you are giving in life, and nurture is something to develop and share your opinions to the world what they feel deep inside.
Afeni Shakur’s life reflects on nature and nurture. The nature of Afeni’s life she was educated, she was in Black Panthers fighting for believes as an African-American and as a women, but life for her got to rough when she was addicted to drugs, being beat up by men who she dated, and her boyfriend who’s in the Black Panther Party got Afeni pregnant, and left her all alone raising two children. Afeni pass on her destiny to Tupac Shakur. Tupac’s nature was that Afeni wanted to educate on African studies, Black culture such as Martin Luther King Jr., Malcom X, and read books written by Maya Angelou, and gain all the knowledge he needs. The nurture of Tupac’s life is sharing his thoughts to the world, feeling lonely were he hangs with his friends that can’t relate to his life, and seeing things that are happening in society, and he is capable enough to change the world in a positive way.

Nurture versus Nature

What is the difference between Nurture and Nature? Nurture is a way you express and talk about your opinions and ideas also sharing them to your surroundings. Nature is the way of giving life and the way you treat it in a different perspective.
Like Afeni Shakur’s life is based on nurture and nature itself for instance Afeni was educated depending her surroundings and the way how she sees the world differently instead of going to school she was born with a natural talented of being well educated on her own. But mostly on her life her being part of the Black Panther party was about her fighting about her believes as a African-American, but also as she stood up as a woman herself. But as a woman in her times got very difficult, but dealing with a sad life as being a drug addict and also being abused by men who she been dating in the past. But her boyfriend who was the member of the Black panther got Afeni pregnant and later she got ditched for having to deal and yet alone having two children with a lot responsibilities. Later she wanted her son Tupac Shakur to have a different path of learning and being well educated differently from his mother had in her life
