Jasmine guy wanted to write evolution of a revolution, because she wanted to share Afeni’s story. She sits down with Afeni and let her tell her thought and feelings. Jasmine and Afeni were very good friends. She wanted to tell people that Afeni was a loving lady even after all she has been through.
Jasmine guy and Afeni’s relationship was strong they were like family guy describes. The first time she met Afeni it was in 1994 after Tupac was shot five times. Jasmine describes how she was scared. He was releast from the hospital, and went to court. He was tried for a sexual assault. The lady that Jasmine thought was in charged was Afeni however, it was her sister Glo.
Michael Eric Dyson’s relationship with Tupac was different from Afeni and Jasmine’s relationship. Dyson was a interviewer trying to find out more about Tupac and his life. Jasmine guy’s relation ship with Afeni was like the bond of a sister. They were like family as she describes in chapter 1.
In their first interview Jasmine and Afeni find that they do have a lot in common. She loves how
Afeni shares her pictures with her. Jasmine can see Afeni has a lot of love for her children and grandchildren. Afeni shares with Jasmine that Tupac bought her this house. Afeni also shares with Jasmine about being Alice fay Williams first. Later on she would join the black panthers and become Afeni Shakur means lover of people.

Jasmine Guy wanted to write this book to talk about Afeni Shakur and what she went through as women. Jasmine Guy explained how hard it is to abe black women and that we are made to love to produce and to be responsible. Afeni Shakur and jasmine Guy were something like best friends and had a lot of the same qualities. Jasmine Guy’s relationship with Afeni Shakuar did not differ from Michael Eric Dyson relationship with Tupac shakuar. Afeni shakuar wanted Guy to tell her story to many other young girls about her life story. She was able to do that by Jasmine Guy writing this book she was able to get any message that Afeni Shakur was trying to get across. There interview session was hosted at Afeni Shakuar’s house and they talked about her life.

Jasmine Guy shares her story about her friendship with her close friend Tupac's mother, whom she met during the trail of Tupac in New York City.  Guy wrote this book to speak and illustrate the strength of black women. Guy wrote, ". . .So, it is no wonder that once I knew the story of Afeni Shakur, I wanted her story told" (Guy x). Guy's friendship with Afeni grew after Tupac's death. Guy wrote, "in this book I share the personal conversations Afeni and I have had over the course of our friendship so that you might get to know her as I know her. . . intimately"(Guy x). Dyson and Tupac has no personal accounts  or conversation with each other. Dyson wrote, "Athough I didn't come away that day with what I had gone for- an interview with Snoop Dogg-I got so much more. I gained a richer appreciation for the complexity of Tupac's life, for the contending identities that defined him. . ."(Dyson 12). Afeni wants Guy to tell her story to reach out to people who has big problems. The first session of the interview seem to me that they really know each other well. Guy went to Afeni's house, bought by Tupac. Afeni told her story when she was growing up, her pain, her values and her challenges.

Jasmine writes the book to tell the inside story of Afeni. Jasmine and Afeni are close friends who knew each other for a long time. Unlike Dyson and Tupac because they didn't know each other. Dyson just wrote his book based on the knowledge of people that knew Tupac. Afeni wants to spread hope to people, to give a helping hand. The first interview took place in Afeni's house where Jasmine and Afeni discussed about Afeni's life.

Jasmine Guy wanted to write this book because she is fascinated by the strength of
black women, and because she found Afeni Shakurs story inspiring and important to be shared.
The relation ship between Guy and Shakur differs from Dyson and Tupac because Guy had an
extremely close friendship where she directly experienced the life of Afeni, compared to Dyson
studying Tupac without any personal encounters. Afeni wants Guy to show how to overcome
struggle, and “reach people who have big problems.” (x) In their first interview session they both gain an understanding of what dynamics they would like to express from their relationship. Afeni also gives insight to what aspects of her life she wants to share and how she believes they can help other people rise up and overcome like she did.

Evolution of a Revolutionary

Jasmine Guy wanted to write this book to show the world the black woman struggle and how they overcome the obstacles they are often put up against. Jasmine and Afani’s relationship was very different compared to the one between Dyson and Tupac. Jasmine and Afani are actually friends. Afani wants Jasmine to share with the world that although the black woman is often labeled as negative and angry people or even permiscuious, there is more to us than meets the eye. Each woman has a story to tell and many are alike Afani wants the woman to know that they are not alone.

Jasmine Guy, want to write this book because jasmine was inspired and empowered by the strength of black women, or any women who faces obstacles in their life that slows them down from their happiness. And Afeni fought against racism, ignored degradation, and made a living through poverty (p. ix-x). Guy and Afeni were best friends and they had personal conversations (p. x). It is different from Dyson and Tupac, because Dyson wanted to learn about him after his death. And they did not have face-to-face conversations like Guy and Afeni. Afeni wanted Guy to show that in times of hardship and ou feel like you dug a hole that is deeper and you cannot get out, you must find a way and take it step by step (p. x). Their first conversation was very emotional, Afeni talked about what she had to go through to get a land that she owns now, and how proud she is to have that (p. 7).

Jasmine Guy wrote this book in order to get to know Afeni Shakur on a personal letter because she relates here life solely on the strength and life and black women. The struggle that a Black women has to deal with, Jasmine uses them to destroy demons and problems that are going on in her life because i think she knows that her life will be never be as hard as black women. Jasmine and Afeni relationship is growing as they are communicating more and I feel that they Jasmine is using Afeni life experinces to shape the person she wants to be because she admires Afeni. As well as, being open to what Afeni went through and aquring some values from the revolutionary mother. The realtionship between Jasmine and Shakur is on a different level than Tupac's and Dyson's.Jasimine had a chance to meet Afeni personally and really understand her life and decisions personally, opposed to Dyson who is getting all of his information from people Tupac was around and you can never know if thats the only side Tupac presented around those certain people. Afeni wants the people who have huge problems in their lives to understand that their is a brighter day and they can see that through Her life experiences and story. Her main focus is progression each and everyday because she wants people to understand that change comes from moving forward and anyone with a problem can get past it. The first visit was Jasmine going to Afenis house to sit down and have a discussion. During that , Afeni started talking about her family and how one thing lead to another , which is why she is here today and views things the way she does. The visit really changed Guy's perspective on the growth of Afeni not through age but mentally by talking about her problems instead of bottling them inside. They end up outside where Afeni feels the happiest because of the environment and the feelings of nature of her garden instead of living in a big mansion with all these shiny faucets and folded up towels things that she doesn't really care about ..Then a friend mabel visits and they eat and JAsmine departs.

Jasmine Guy wanted to write this book to tell Afeni Shakur’s story and also she was writing a screenplay with a character made up of a combination of Angela Davis and Afeni Shakur. Her plan was to meet Afeni and hopefully have her help her develop that particular character. The difference between Michael Eric Dyson’s relationship with Tupac Shakur and Jasmine Guy is that she was a close friend, even considered to be family were as Dyson has just fan. Afeni wanted this book to be written for people that had big problems she says. The first interview was more to old friends meting again after a long time catching up on the past.

Jasmine guy wrote this book because she wanted to actually get inside the head of Afeni Shakur. She had a close personal relationship with Afeni. The two of them first got real close after an inncident with tupac being shot. The differences between the authors Dyson and Jasmine Guy, was that one of them told the point of views by basing them on facts. the other author told the stories by trying to understand the characters and tell the story from the inside out. Jasmine Guy got to know Afeni pretty well after some time. Jasmine held a lot of mettings with Afeni at Afeni's home to try and understand he whole story and why Tupac is the way he is.

Evolution
Evolution is when something changes its form into something other form for better or worst. Evolution is like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, since it transforms from a worm like insect into something that can fly. Joining the Black Panthers was the first step Anfeni took in her evolution into a freedom fighter. Segregation and racism in her hometown of Lumerton, North Carolina, primed Afeni for her eventual evolutionary work.

Jasmine Guy wanted to write a book on Afeni Shakur because Guy's life was influence by Shakur's life struggles and how she fought for her freedom in her own way. (ix-x)
The relationship between Guy and Shakur are that they are friends that know each other personally. They have learned a lot from one another over the decade they have been friends.(x)
It differs from Dyson and Tupac because they did not know each other personally as Guy and Shakur did.
Afeni wants Guy to show that you could get through the garbage problems in life if you just push through it and work for what you believe in. (x) During the first interview that was recorded, they were at Afeni's house and were talking about her life

Jasmine also wanted to tell people Afeni's story because too many people covered Tupac and Afeni had an Interesting story to offer. jasmine meet Tupac she had never meet Afeni which is another reason she was perpelled to write about afeni Dyson although a professor never meet Tupac and just wanted to cash in on the Tupac train

Jasmine Guy wanted to write "Evolution of a Revolutionary" because she wanted the readers to know more about Tupac Shakur's mother, Afeni, and her story of the struggles that she went through. Guy wanted to inform readers Afeni Shakur's side instead of what they heard in Tupac's lyrics. Guy's relationship with Afeni Shakur is different than Afeni Shakur's relationship with Dyson because Guy and Tupac were close friends and approached Afeni more friendly. Dyson was friendly but really wanted an interview due to Tupac's legacy; Guy wanted to talk to Afeni Shakur and find about her life and how it was hard growing up as a struggling black woman. Guy and Afeni became friends as well as sisters. Afeni wants to reach out to people who are struggling and want to find a way to escpae. She talks about her problems due to poverty and the chaos in the world, which relates to why she joined the Black Panthers. The first interview of Guy and Afeni was their conversation at Afeni's house where she talks about her family's journeys, her youth, and identity as Alice Fay Williams.

The difference between Afeni Shakur / Jasmine Guy and Dyson/ Tupac is the relationship between Afeni and Jasmine is personal and the relationship between Dyson and Tupac is not. Dyson didn’t know Tupac when he wrote Holler if you hear me, whereas Jasmine knew Afeni on a personal level when she started writing evolution of a revolutionary. Jasmine Guy wanted to write this book to let people know about black empowerment and to share the life of Afeni Shakur to the world. The first interview is mostly Afeni talking about what she wants to make the purpose of Jasmine Guy’s book. That is too help people that are stuggling get trough life.

I think jasmine Guy wanted to write this book because she knows there is more to Afeni Shakur besides being part of the Black Panther party. Jasmine being her friend wanted the audience to know the reality of what Afeni went through throughout her life, Struggles and accomplishments. The relationship between jasmine and Afeni Is a strong friendship, for Afeni to allow jasmine to write a book on her life is a strong bond that unites them. The difference between Michael Dyson’s relationship with Tupac and the relationship between jasmine and Afeni, is that dyson and Tupac weren’t close, more as interviews, there wasn’t a bond, or trust related, like jasmine and Afeni’s relationship. It’s easier to do or write something when you know the person you are speaking to. I think Afeni wants jasmine to show how her life really was through her point of view, not as others have described it. The first session jasmine and Afeni talked I think was more of an opening up to each other, they talked more on her background and parents. Her struggle as a child, her connections with her family, and how her life slowly started becoming how it all ended up.

Jasmine Guy wanted to write the book because she wanted to know about her life as a civil rights activist, single mother, and drug addict. Also, she wanted to get Afeni’s side of the story and her commentary on her life and her sons. The relationship between guy and Afeni was close family friends, Biographer. Guy’s relationship with Afeni differs from Michael Eric Dysons relationship with Tupac Shakur in many different ways. Dyson was a journalist who used Afeni’s life as a window into Tupac’s life. Dyson was only using Afeni as a window to get more in sight on Tupac while Jasmine Guy was primarily interested in writing about Afeni herself. Afeni wants guy to show in her story The perspective of african american woman in various areas specifically things like civil rights. The interview session was at Afeni Shakur's house and they were, discussnig her life as a civil rights activist.
