Revising is a strong skill to obtain as a writer. Similar to editing, revising improves your writing but is still very different. Editing a sentence focuses on grammar but revising is rewriting. The film "Revision Strategies" explains two different techniques of revising and demonstrates the difference a first draft and revised draft can make.
The film teaches you three steps to revise a paper: who is your audience, what is your objective, what are the major parts of your paper. One tip the movie gave when revising a paper is to start with putting all of your thoughts down on paper then direct them to an audience, I think this technique would be most beneficial to me. Another key point I learned from the movie is to accept I am not a genius and it is ok if my paper does not come out perfect on my first attempt.
Watching "Revision Strategies" was a fun way to introduce and show how to revise a paper. The movie suggests giving credibility in order to make your arguments more believable, I appreciate that the movie gave credibility to their techniques by showing interviews of successful writers. I think it will be easy to apply all the skills learned. My writing may not be perfect but through revision it can only get better.

The film, "Revision Strategies" gave excellent tips for re-writing an essay. The first three points they made clear were to keep in mind the audience and make sure the paper talks to the intended reader. They also said to have an objective that would convince, persuade or educate the audience. The third point was to support or back up your argument with pertinent information.Re-writing is the whole basis of writing.

To create an argument to change the mind of others you will need to revise your paper to say what you mean. Try to make the audience care about what you are saying. Overall look at the message you are trying to relate. Re-writing or revison means to "see again", through your eyes of your reader.Eventually you will try to create a perfect sentence, but not the first time around. It's best when wrting to put your paper down for a day or two and go back to it with fresh eyes. Having someone else read it to check if the message is clear is helpful and should be done. Add credability by being more specific.

You will not finish your paper the first time you write it, sometimes you will need to cut paragraphs or sentence. Once you've written you thesis sentence you will need to support it. Transform your paper with the reader in mind. Make sure to keep your thoughts in order. Some strategies for re-writing is to look at the overall paper, the objective. Make sure to follow up with your points of argument. Examine each paragraph and check to see if the essay flows and is easy reading.

Revision Strategies Film

Today in the class, we watched the film "Revision Strategies". The film shows how to rewrite you paper. Rewrite your paper means editing your whole paper. You can't start with the point that you want to prove in your paper, you have to put a thesis sentence first.

Writing is a process that requires you to rewrite your writing. Most beginning writers consider rewriting is a kind of punishment and they are expecting their paper to be perfect from the first time.

Rewriting is to talk to yourself and put yourself in the audience place in order to rewrite your paper. An easy way to revise your paper and rewrite it is to put your main ideas in the paper then put the paper away for at least a couple days then return to it with a fresh mind and rewrite it. You will find things you didn't noticed them before.

Revision Strategies

The film "Revision Strategies" discusses the steps of writing a great and acceptable essay for those who are beginning writers. The film presents these strategies in a way of watching a television show from the 80's. The people in the film also talk about how there is a difference between writing and revision.
The film also shows different interviews of professional writers giving advice to those who want to write an acceptable essay for college. This advice is the different steps or rules to think about when writing an essay such as impact of idea toward audience. These steps or rules are:
1)look at overall paper/idea
2)look at organization
3)examine each paragraph
4)focus on sentences and words

These ideas make sense becazuse every reader needs to make sure that they follow these procedures in order to get a good grade. If the audience is confused, then the paper won't get a good grade nor will the speaker be able to connect nor will his/her idea seem clear.

The movie is about revising a writing. It discusses the proper techniques  in writing, rewriting and revising a writing. It also gave three major components of a writing. It gave suggestion for writers on how to write. It also mentioned the difference between editing and revising, also what must do when writing.
There are major keys steps in revising a paper. But first, according to the movie, there are key points of proper writing. Reader base prose works very well with writers. Write ideas out, without answering readers question. When writing, start writing first sentence then continue to the end, do not stop and revise or rewrite. Do not edit prematurely. Writing requires revisions. There's a difference between revision and editing; revision is seeing it in different view while editing is correcting grammar and punctuations. After writing, put the writing away for awhile then re-read it and read it out loud.
Now, the rewriting or revising part, after putting away or when going back to your writing; read it out loud. Look at the over all paper, the organization, examine the paragraphs, and focus on sentences or words. When revising the papers, think about the who are the audience, the objective of the writing and most importantly say the major point of your writing.

“Revision Strategy” Reflection

A good Writer is a good rewriter. There is a big difference between revising a paper and rewriting an essay. A lot of writers think that they are getting punished when they get told to rewrite a paper. There is a lot of "Revision Strategies" fallowing them will get you to be a good writer. Rewriting an essay is a key part of being a goof writer.

The film teaches you things that you dint want to believe. I used to believe that if you told me to rewrite my paper it was because it was wrong. I now know that no one can write perfect sentences the first time around. Once you have the first draft you cant revise it before you rewrite it at least one time. The rewriting is just as important as writing itself.

A good writer knows that you don't revise or edit when you rewrite. You also have to put your self in your audience shoes so you can tell there point. If you don't consider everyone in your writing then you will have no one interested in your paper. I now know that if i have five words in my paper i have to change seven.

Revision Strategies Film

The film Revision Strategies gives a lot of information about rewriting a paper and rewriting a paper means editing the whole essay or paper. Throughout the paper you need to prove your paper starting with the thesis sentence. The three points that they have pointed out in the film are to made it clear to keep in mind of the audience, convince persuade or educate the audience, and support the argument.

Writing a paper and editing the paper takes a lot of process. When beginners considers rewriting in a another way. People tries to make a perfect paper at the first time, but writing a paper needs time and to revise the paper. Writing a paper needs to put in key ideas and a argument to get the audience to understand what the writer is telling us. Getting another person to read your paper or reading the paper later like a couple days helps a lot if the essay doesn’t sound right. Getting a friends help or checking it later helps by what mistakes you have made in the paper.

When writing a paper it is good to revise the paper that you wrote. It is good to revise the paper because the audience will know what the writer is telling us readers. Once writing the paper and the thesis you need to support the thesis with an argument. Getting the objectives and the main ideas on the paper will help a lot. Revising a paper is important in writing a paper.

Revision video

In the film: "Revision Strategies", explains how to become a better writer using multiple strategies and the necessary steps it takes to create a good essay.Using prewriting, questions, and revisions contributes to a successful essay. The reality is no writer can sit down immediately and write a complete and detailed essay. The film" Revision Strategies" gives writers the opportunity to expand one's writing using different techniques.

Writing is a process that requires time to go back and make revisions. The basis of writing well is becoming a pre writer and selecting the right audience by asking questions that clarify the topic. Doing revisions allows the writer to correct punctuation and grammar as well as look for any other mistakes one made. Their is a key outline to follow when revising an essay: Look at the overall paper, look at the papers organization, examine each paragraph, focus attention on sentence and words, ask who is the audience, and what is the objective of the paper. Revision is just as important as writing itself.

The film" Revision Strategies" gives writers the opportunity to expand one's writing using different techniques. Writers shouldn't revise am essay the same day as it written because the brain isn't functioning properly. One note is to never use the "Perfect Draft System" because its not possible without revisions, and prewriting.
Every good writer is a rewriter and makes revisions. Becoming a good writer goes beyond just sitting down for a day and writing a paper.

In the film Revision Strategies the people try to help a man write his book by having him read through his own writing as part of the audience. The man wanted to talk about mental patients in halfway houses, which one of the helpers did not like. With that aside, the other helpers still helped him out by having him proof read all his words to see if that is what he wanted to put out to the public. In this case, the helpers wanted the man to know about proofreading and editing and revising concepts.

Proofreading is one of the best skills an author has to obtain. If you proofread your essays, you can further understand the difference between all your mistakes. Also, you can implement your argument by making it stronger and comprehensible for the audience. You must assume that your essay will never be perfect, because it will not be. That is why it is important to proofread everything so that it can get close to being perfect.

Editing and revising are two completely different concepts. To edit, you must correct punctuation marks or correct grammar. Authors usually edit their essays or books towards the end. Revision must be done constantly. You must read through your words as an audience member, like you are completely foreign to the essay that has been written by you or someone else. That is the best way to pick up mistakes that you missed mistakenly.

If the writer of the book can have obtain the skills of editing and revising, then he can reveal to the audience a comprehensible book. these tips will take him long ways.

Revision Strategies Video

The video, "Revision Strategies", talks about how every writer cannot get the essay right the first time. It takes time and proofreading to get it all together In the video it says, "Every beginning writer is a good writer".

There are four steps to form the revision process. First look as the overall paper. Second look at paper organization. Third examine each of the paragraphs. Lastly, ask yourself, "Do they flow together? After revising a paper, ask a friend or a classmate to fix the grammar which is to edit the paper.

Revising a paper takes time to put together. Professional writers even write out a rough draft to see how it looks before they write the final draft. You can not expect to get it right the first time, it takes practice.

When a writer does a paper he or she must remember a few basic things about the whole process. First a good writer must also be a good rewriter. This is very important in when turning in a final draft. A writer sometimes writes an essay of paper forgetting that a revision is needed in completing a good essay. Writers try to write papers great the first time and forget a revision is key to a good essay.
It is important to edit the entire essay from start to finish. Sometimes writers just look at their thesis sentence and conclusion to see if they tie into the body of the essay. Writers make mistakes forgetting the importance of a thorough edit of punctuation, sentence structure, and main points of the essay.
In This film on “Revision Strategies,” The people talk about the importance of not revising a paper the same day it is written. This gives the ideas of the writer a chance to leave and new ones come to light. I think that is important because new ideas pop into each person’s mind every day. This just makes writing and revision separate with new thoughts being revealed. This movie was good with showing students how to edit papers more efficiently without being consumed by it.

Revision Strategies

Revising a sentence, paragraph or even an essay is a very hard thing to do because not only you have to look for grammar errors, but also you have to go step by step in finding mistakes through out the whole entire essay to make sure every last bit of it is perfect. Write a rough draft and get it corrected than improve your writing later on. To become a good writer you need time perseverance, and practice. But, with practice and determination your skills with writing, will improve. Things like Editing, revising, correcting mistakes such as sentences will improve your writing, and will give you the skills of knowing nobody is perfect and, everybody makes mistakes.
Improving your writing takes practice, and before you know it you will be a great writer. Looking at a sentence, what would you need to do you may ask? for a person who isn’t a really good editor. You would edit, rewrite the sentence in making sense. The film we watched called “Revision Strategies” Really, taught me a lot, and gave me many ideas for future essays/term papers. The film brought up two very important uses of revising a paper. The film we watched taught us the difference between a 1st draft, 2nd draft, and a final.
Its changing the words around in different ways to have your paper making sense, chronological order, punctuation, and indentation.

“Revision Strategies” Brought up something I had never even thought of, the three steps to revise a paper which, you have to focus on and always think about when writing a paper, or using detail. Who is your audience? Who is the audience talking to? What is your subject? What is your objective? And, What are the major parts of your paper? Now, if you have all of these things in your paper you are guaranteed to get an A+. If you are missing any of this stuff, you may get the paper back and be asked to revise it. When you look at a paper look at the subject, title, and objective. Make sure the paragraphs flow together to sound well and in order, to do that read a variety of topics and styles.
Remember put the thesis, body paragraph, and conclusion. When writing your paper have your mind set, and completely clear if you have to make a web and put all your thoughts and ideas than after, that put it down on paper in order; that way it makes sense. To make sure you wrote it correctly and well, read it out loud to yourself. Expand your vocabulary and use, correct punctuation. Have in mind what is the opening sentence and the thesis? Use credibility and note where you got your information from.
Remember when you write your paper, you are writing to the audience itself. And, you are trying to have them understand what you are writing. So picture yourself as the audience.

Overall, the film “Revision Strategies” gave me some more ideas of how to revise and put correct punctuation in a paper and how to do a rough draft and a final draft. Always brainstorm and write your ideas on paper before actually, writing the paper that way you have thoughts that can flow, and you can eventually put the whole paper together. I hope when I write an essay, in the near future, it will turn out really well without being handed back to me. In general, always giving credibility on where you got the source or who you got it from is always good for your paper. The people introducing there papers, and teaching us did a great job on explaining how to write a paper.
In order to write a great paper, you would have to follow the steps from the PIDD book, and the film we watched which gave me even more ideas which I hope to obtain and remember for future projects. Putting correct punctuation and using the correct ideas will give an awesome paper.
